About the Project
The International Plant Phenotyping Network is an association representing the major plant phenotyping centres, registered under German law on 18 February 2016. Its purpose is to promote science and research in the field of plant phenotyping, through four objectives: to establish a global institutional network that maximises synergies, to foster communication between stakeholders, to increase the visibility of plant phenotyping, and to facilitate interdisciplinary training.
It works through thematic working groups, among them advanced sensor application, affordable phenotyping, applications of artificial intelligence, forest phenotyping and root phenotyping. It runs the International Plant Phenotyping Symposium, holds workshops and summer schools, maintains a database and a global map of phenotyping facilities, and coordinates with regional and national phenotyping networks.
